Reclaimed wood is the perfect choice to create floors with a timeless and warm feeling. Reclaimed wood can be chosen for its character, its past history or for ecological reasons, but it does not stop there. The installation and the finishing of reclaimed wood floors are critical processes in order to bring out the exceptional beauty of the aged wood. Special techniques and recipes, developed with years of experiences and passion, have been crafted by the Small Island Wood Floors’ team to give reclaimed wood its richness. Reclaimed wood usually has a history attached to it. In the past we have had wood from old bridges, century old academy, old oak barrels, old barn, hotel and manufacture. Reclaimed wood brings character and history to your house! Reclaimed wood floors: v Are kiln dried to assure wood stability and minimize movement v Are made of carefully selected long planks up to 20’ long v the wood species and width will vary according to supply, from 2 in. to 12 in. v can be installed with old square nails and finished with a natural stain v Perfect for busy household as wear and tear simply adds to the natural character of the floor v Price ranges from $8 to $25 per square foot for the material, installation and finishing. |
